David Stremme, Stephen Wallace enter Lanier 1/31 Speedfest
CRA and Lanier National Speedway officials have announced that NASCAR competitors David Stremme and Stephen Wallace have both filed entries for the upcoming SpeedFest 2010 on January 31st at Lanier National Speedway. Stremme is a former CRA Super Series regular competitor prior to his ascension to the NASCAR ranks. The South Bend, Indiana native has three CRA wins in all including a win in the famed Winchester 400 in 2008 and last seasons CRA Summer Championship 200 at Plymouth Speedway. Stremme got his first series win in 1999 at Salem Speedway. Stremme competed last season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with Penske Racing.

Wallace will be competing in his first ever CRA Super Series event, but he does have plenty of experience in a late model including a third place finish in the December 6th Snowball Derby, and a win in the Derby in 2004. Wallace will be competing in a late model owned by famed crew chief Richie Wauters. Wallace was a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2009 driving for his father NASCAR great Rusty Wallace.

Stremme and Wallace join fellow NASCAR competitor Kyle Busch as a strong start to the list of great competitors that will be competing in SpeedFest 2010. Additional entries for the event will be announced soon. The advanced entry deadline for the event is January 15th.

The CRA portion of SpeedFest 2010 will be 250 laps with a break at lap 125 for teams to work on their cars and change tires. It will be an eight tire event. The leader at lap 125 will receive a $2000 bonus, the second place driver $1000, third place will receive $750, fourth place $500 and fifth place $250. The halfway leader will then draw for an invert for the start of the second half, the invert could be a three to a possible six. The winner of the event will receive $8000. The 150 lap Pro Late Model event will pay $3000 to win. There will be a $10,000 bonus if a driver can win both events!

There will be an open practice on Friday, January 29th. Practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday, January 30th. The late model feature events will be ran on Sunday, January 31st in the afternoon. More information on the event and information on the Pro Late Model race are available at www.lanierspeedway.com. More information on the CRA Super Series and entry forms for the CRA portion of SpeedFest 2010 is available at www.craracing.net.
