World Crown 300 full schedule
Gresham Motorsports Park (GMP) formally announced today the event schedule and divisions competing in the 2009 World Crown 300 - the event that will re-open the totally renovated former Peach State Speedway.
The historic 26th-annual racing classic will open with World Crown 300 Pro Late Model transporter parking and race vehicle tech inspection from 1-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 12. The first on-track action at the all-new racing facility will take the green flag with Pro Late Model practice at 10 a.m. Friday, November 13.

"With construction finally winding down, we are shifting our focus to the scheduling, entries and rules for the World Crown weekend," stated GMP General Manager Dan Elliott. "We are proud of our new facility and all of the efforts from our contractors and surrounding community. We look forward to finally getting into the racing aspect of Gresham Motorsports Park."

Gresham Motorsports Park features a new half-mile racing surface, fencing and retaining walls. A new quarter-mile oval has been constructed to provide better racing in multiple divisions while a fresh aluminum grandstand and lowered infield pit area will give fans better sight line race viewing.

A new Control/Media/VIP tower, rest rooms, concessions, lighting and sound systems, and trackside parking are just a few more of the improvements made during the summer-long GMP renovation.

This year's three-day World Crown 300 racefest will feature a host of highlights including the first-ever appearance of the 600 Racing Legends cars on Friday night. The full program of exciting Legends racing action - which will also include Bandoleros and Thunder Roadsters - will cap the day's activities.

Saturday's World Crown 300 events will roll off at 10 a.m. and will be highlighted by full racing programs in four divisions - Iceman Late Models, Mini-Stocks, Trucks and Renegades. Action on the freshly minted GMP racing surface Saturday will also feature practice and qualifying for Sunday's World Crown 300 Pro Late Model event.

The amazing transformation of the new GMP facility has made the 2009 World Crown 300 one of the most highly anticipated events of this racing season. The pit area will open at 9 a.m. Sunday, November 15 with Opening Ceremonies and Driver Introductions set for 1:15 p.m. The 26th-Annual World Crown 300 will take the green flag at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.

"Over the next few weeks, we will be testing to determine tire compounds and the exact rules for all divisions," stated Elliott. "Our primary goal is to provide the best competition among all divisions for the Crown weekend. We will be holding open test dates in October, so please stay tuned to our website for date announcements and rules that will be released as they become available."

Tickets for the 2009 World Crown 300 weekend at Gresham Motorsports Park will be available in mid-September. Please log on to www.greshammotorsportspark.com regularly this month to keep abreast of the surrounding the reopening of Gresham Motorsports Park and the 2009 World Crown 300.
