Wayne Evans Named New Georgia Asphalt Series Technical Director for 2009
BRASELTON GA: Georgia Asphalt Series GM Terry Roberts announced Tuesday that Wayne Evans has been named as the new 2009 Georgia Asphalt Series Technical Director. Wayne comes to the Georgia Asphalt Series with a background as a Technical Director for several race series across the nation. He has worked in Truck, Short Track Series and in NASCAR racing and as a chief technical director for several racing circuits.

Wayne Evans and his brother Larry Evans were involved from the very start as creators of the original Pro Truck series based out of Columbus GA. Wayne was the Technical Series Director for the Truck Series. Wayne has also worked as Series Technical Director for the Southern All Stars race circuit as well.

“I am excited to be involved with the Georgia Asphalt Series at this level of competition and believe my years of experience and expertise will benefit both the series and the drivers at this level” said Wayne Evans. “I am really excited to be named as the new technical director for the Georgia asphalt series.”

“Wayne Evans brings tremendous experience and a level of continuity to the Georgia Asphalt Series that has been lacking in recent years” said Series GM Terry Roberts. “He is the catalyst needed to really take the series to the next level especially with the all new $50,000 Triple Crown Challenge.”

The first Georgia Asphalt Series race will be at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele GA on April 4th 2009.
