Sieg leads GAS pts.; Peach State Aug. 30 next
|
The Georgia Asphalt Series for Pro Late Models will be at Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Saturday evening, August 30th. The GAS Series/Polaris of Athens 100 will feature drivers from though out the Southeast on the high banked 1/2 mile oval. Polaris of Athens plans to give away a new Polaris 300 4 - Wheeler to a lucky fan that evening. As the GAS Series season is coming to the finish line, the series points race has tightened up. Current points leader Ryan Sieg of Decatur, Georgia leader has been cut to only 10 points by 2007 GAS Series Champion Russell Fleeman of Dacula, Georgia. Coming off his first GAS Series win at New Senoia Raceway on August 16th, T.J. Reaid of Acworth, Georgia has a commanding lead in the Five Star Race Bodies Rookie Of The Year chase one second place competitor Max Gresham of Griffin, Georgia. In addition to the GAS Series , all other local classes will compete, including the Outlaw Late Models, Toyota Tundra Super Trucks and the "wild and crazy" Mini-Stocks.
