SE Asphalt Tour's new TV time: Wed., May 7th at 7PM
Television coverage of The RC Cola/Moon Pie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour’s inaugural season is now on the air in key regional markets as well as across the USA, and is earning applause everywhere. “Our first show, the Watermelon Capitol Speedway event from Cordele, Georgia, began airing last week in several markets and we’re hearing nothing but good things about the series and our coverage from our affiliates,” said Rick Benjamin, President of Visioncast Inc./Carolinas Production Group Inc., which is producing and syndicating the coverage nationally. “We had to work through a rainout on Saturday night, but the rescheduled “Watermelon 100” gave us plenty of hard-fought short track action and hard hits on Sunday. Beau Slocumb was a deserving winner and drove a great race. Some of the top names in short track racing will join the highly competitive tour drivers at USA International Speedway this coming Saturday night,” Benjamin added. Comcast Sports in Denver, Time Warner Sports Network in Buffalo, and Lonestar Sports Network in Dallas/Ft. Worth all began airing the Watermelon 100 last week. Sports Time Ohio (seen nationally on DirecTV and Dish Network) will debut coverage of the RC Cola/Moon Pie Southeast Asphalt Tour this coming Saturday evening at 5pm Eastern time. The series’ flagship cable partner,SportSouth, begins its coverage on Wednesday night, May 7th at 7PM Eastern (note new, earlier time). SportSouth has now scheduled the Tour’s events in that prime Wednesday evening slot throughout the summer and fall.Additionally, RC Cola/Moon Pie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour events will begin airing nationally in June on AmericaOne, and within the next few weeks on MavTV and AMGTV. Other regional affiliates in Rochester, NY and Detroit will join the network in the coming weeks as well.
