Peach State Speedway hosting GAS Series Saturday

Jefferson, GA - April 27, 2008 - The Georgia Asphalt Series season is headed to its home track, Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia, Saturday, May 3rd for round three of its 2008 season. This will be the second visit in 2008 to Peach State by the traveling Pro Late Model Season. Bubba Pollard of Senoia, Georgia took the win over the thirty car field in the season opener.
Randy Porter of Easley, South Carolina, took round 2 at Anderson Motor Speedway earlier this month.
Current GAS Series points leader and two time GAS Series Champion, Fredrick Moore of Gainesville, Georgia, has a slim 8 point lead over another former GAS Series Champion, Joey Senter of Jefferson, Georgia. The 2007 GAS Series Champion, Russell Fleeman of Dacula, Georgia is third, followed by Ryan Seig of Decatur, Georgia and 2007 Lanier National Speedway Late Model Champion Chris Whorton of Boaz, Alabama.
T.J. Reaid of Acworth, Georgia leads the Five Star Rookie of the Year chase. Reaid is also 7th in GAS Series points. Second place rookie points driver Cody Haskins of Marietta, Georgia trails Reaid by only 15 points.
In addition to the GAS Series, the Outlaw Late Models (dirt style bodied late model racecars), Super Trucks, Sportsman, Bandits and Mini Stocks will compete.
Peach State Speedway is located off I-85 at Exit 140. Follow the signs to the speedway.
Grandstand gates open at 4:00 PM with racing at 7PM. Adult grandstand admission is only $12. Children 12 and under are free. There are also discounts for senior citizens.
