TERRY SMITH'S SECOND STRAIGHT WIN AT TALLADEGA SHORT TRACK
TERRY SMITH USES TURN FOUR PASS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN AT TALLADEGA SHORT TRACK

Eastaboga, AL (April 19, 2008) – Terry Smith only led a short distance, but it was the timing the counted, as he took the lead coming off of turn four on the last lap to claim his second straight victory of the season in Super Late Model action at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL on Saturday Night.

Smith dove to the bottom of Ross Martin in turn three and used the low line and lapped traffic to his advantage in claiming the win and besting a field of twenty-nine Super Late Models.

Martin finished in the second spot with Dingus Griffin third. Fourth spot went to Chris Mullinax with James Cline rounding out the top five.

Logan Yates picked up his first win of the season in a thrilling Crate Late Model feature that had the crowd buzzing. Adam Martin finished in the second spot with Brian Ponder third.

Buddy George picked up his first career feature victory in the Race City Diner Sportsman feature event over Adam Cummings in second and Shane Criswell third.

Scottie Hiett picked up the win in IMCA Modified action over Dale Henderson in second and Eddie Creed third.

Tony Miles picked up the fifteen lap Thundercar feature event over Al Reynolds in second and Scott Magouirk third.

Phillip Haynes bested a twenty-car Street Stock field for the win, while Timmy Runfola won the Hot Shot feature event.

Talladega Short Track is back in action with a busy weekend this week. Friday Night will feature a $2,000 to win Super Late Model show plus a special Sprint Cup drivers match race. Saturday Night will feature the appearance of the O’Reilly Southern All-Star Super Late Models in a $5,000 to win show. A full program in all other divisions will also be held both nights.

For more information you can contact the speedway office at (256) 831-1413 or visit the tracks official website at www.talladegashorttrack.com.
