GAS Series Rookie class one of the best ever

by:Allen Hastings Jefferson, GA - - Each year the Georgia Asphalt Series brings to the fore front a great class of Rookie drivers to vie for the GAS Series Five Star Race Bodies Rookie of the Year Championship. This year is no exception. The list includes... Kyle Mitchell of Hampton, Georgia - Kyle has been competing since 2002 where he began in the INEX Bandeleros. He was also the 2006-2007 Aaron's Pro Challenge Champion. J.R. Tippens of Covington, Georgia - J.R. has raced go-carts for 9 years. J.R. is a 6 time Georgia State Champion and a two time National Champion. Matt Swarts of Jasper, Alabama - Matt has raced Open Wheel Modifieds at speedways in North Alabama. Jared Evans of Cairo, Georgia - Jared competed in the Pure Street class at Albany (GA) Motor Speedway. Rusty Evans of Cairo, Georgia - Rusty has competed in the Super Street class at Albany (GA) Motor Speedway. Josh Adkins of Cummings, Georgia - Josh began his racing career in go-carts and move to Super Trucks in 2001. Jeremy Mullinax of Jasper, Georgia - Jeremy began racing go-carts in 2000 where he won numerous races and championships. He was also Lanier National Speedway's Legends Semi-Pro Rookie of the Year. Max Gresham of Griffin, Georgia - Max won his first Late Model race in 2007. He also finished 3rd in season points in Atlanta Motor Speedways Pro Legends division. T.J. Reaid of Acworth, Georgia - T.J. has competed throughout the Southeast in Legends car racing. Casey Roderick of Lawrenceville, Georgia - Casey was the 2007 Las Vegas National Champion and was the 2007 INEX Asphalt National Champion. He also has wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Lowes Motor Speedway and Lanier National Speedway., These rookie drivers will take on the veterans of the GAS Series begining this Saturday, March 29, when the series heads to Peach State Speedway in Jefferson, Georgia for its season opener. In addition to the GAS Series, the Outlaw Late Model, Sportsman, Super Trucks, Bandits and Mini-Stocks will compete. Adult grandstand tickets will be only $12. Racing begins at 7PM.Peach State Speedway is located off I-85 at Exit 140.
