Cheney building new Calhoun Co. Speedway

Donnie Cheney, who has raced in the area since the 1980s, is building the Calhoun County Motor Speedway in Morgan, GA - 20 miles west of Albany. The dirt track will be a 3/8s mile, similar to the Talladega Short Track, and he hopes to start racing with a few shows this summer. Cheney owns the land, which he describes as too poor to grow pine trees, and owns a constuction firm. It is on Hwy. 45, three miles north of Morgan.
